Do you get that creepy feeling when you have left the closet door slightly ajar? As if some eyes are staring and watching you? Even as a grown adult, do you feel better with the door closed? Or maybe there maybe a creeping hand over the door. Do you rationalize, as if you'd wake from a dead sleep if the door creaked open?
Always, all my bedroom doors are closed. I can't sleep if there is a door that is open, or if there is too much of a crack in a bi-folding door, or if there is a mirror that has a light reflecting off it, or the curtains are opaque and I can see through the window.I won't deny it. I DO believe in ghosts, and yes, they do creep around the living. It is, in my belief, easier to see them through the slit of an open door or a reflection of a mirror or window.
So it extends further than closet doors for me, but also bathroom doors, or bedroom doors. Having them slightly opened where I can see into the other room, for me, is creepy. Not so much that they will see me, but that I will see them, if that isn't crazy.
I never worried so much about the 'monsters' under my bed. Like dangling one foot off for someone to have a taste. I mean to say, as an adult.
As a child, putting my foot off the bed and onto the floor could mean disaster. More real world situations turned into a childhood imagination. I lived in my brother's room where Lego pieces loomed. There were also the 'ghosts' I lived with, that would knock things over, etc. We also lived by train tracks.

I guess another perspective as to why the monsters under my bed thing doesn't creep me out was the movie "Little Monsters". Kind of like the 80's version of "Monsters, Inc". It makes me wonder though. What evolutionary aspect, what real life monsters did we face, to have such a fear of these dark corners in our room.
